(a) Membership. The Planning Commission of the Village of Columbus Grove shall be appointed in accordance with Section 713.01 of the Ohio Revised Code and shall consist of five members including the Mayor, one member of Council to be elected by Council, and three other residents of the Village to be appointed by the Mayor. All members of the Planning Commission shall reside within the corporate limits of the Village.
(b) Enactment/Amendment Role, and Other Duties and Powers.
(1) The Planning Commission shall review the proposed zoning regulations; following this the Commission shall officially recommend their adoption to Council.
(2) The Planning Commission may, at its own discretion, hold public hearings, giving notice in accordance with Section 713.12 of the Ohio Revised Code.
(3) The Planning Commission may initiate amendments to the zoning regulations map and/or text. Proposals for amendments shall be in accord with the guidelines set forth in Section 1151.02.
(4) The Planning Commission shall act on proposed amendments to the zoning regulations map or text in accord with the procedures specified in Section 1151.03, of these regulations, and Chapter 713 of the Ohio Revised Code.
