Unless specific circumstances justify different specifications and standards in construction or repair and replacement of sidewalks, sidewalks shall be constructed per the following specifications and standards:
(a) Concrete forms must be level and match the grade of the connecting sidewalk.
(b) Reinforcement bars (3/8" or ½") must be spaced in the sidewalk in both width and length.
(c) Sidewalk must have an expansion joint every 50 feet.
(d) Sidewalk must be 4 feet wide unless approved by Administrator.
(e) Concrete must be a 6 ½ bag concrete mix.
(f) Broom finish across the sidewalk.
(g) Concrete must be sealed with concrete sealer.
(h) Sidewalk must be cut every 4 feet.
(i) Must use expansion bars where abutting another sidewalk or curb.
(j) Administrator must inspect forms before concrete is poured. Please call the Village at 659-2982 for an inspection prior to pouring concrete.
(k) Concerns about curb, sewer, trees or other objects obstructing sidewalk areas, please call the Administrator for information on how to handle these issues.
(l) Sidewalks across stone drives must be a minimum of 4 feet wide and 6 inches deep.
(m) Base material for the sidewalk shall be a minimum depth of 4 inches of foundation that shall consist of #411 or #57 base material.
