§ 6.302 TRANSPORTATION OF BUILDINGS.
   (A)   No person, firm, partnership or corporation shall move any building of any nature or type over the streets and highways of the city without a permit therefore.
   (B)   An application shall be filed with the Clerk and indicate:
      (1)   The name and address of the applicant;
      (2)   The type of structure to be moved;
      (3)   The route over which the building will be moved;
      (4)   The date and time that said building will be within the city; and
      (5)   The final destination of the building.
   (C)   The application shall be forwarded to the Chief of Police, who may approve the granting of a permit subject to such conditions as are necessary and appropriate to prevent disruption or create a hazard to traffic.
   (D)   The permit shall not be issued by the Clerk until the applicant has posted a bond with the Clerk in the amount of $50,000. Such bond shall guarantee reimbursement for damages caused by the permittee in moving the said building regardless of whether or not the permittee was negligent. The amount of the required bond may be lessened in certain instances by Council resolution.
   (E)   The permit shall not be issued by the Clerk until the applicant has filed with the Clerk a certificate of insurance duly issued by an insurance company authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota, in the minimum amount of $300,000 per person for bodily injury and $300,000 per accident, and $30,000 for property damage.
   (F)   A fee may be set by Council resolution for permits to move buildings over streets and highways exclusively under the jurisdiction of the city.
