§ 94.014 ON-SITE FIRE PROTECTION– PLANS AND CONNECTIONS.
   (A)   All installation of on-site fire protection shall be in accordance to code in effect at the time of construction. A complete set of plans and specifications for fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems, automatic sprinkler systems, standpipe systems and other special types of fire extinguishing systems and appurtenances thereto shall be submitted to the Department for review. The installation shall be at the expense of the owner or developer.
   (B)   Backflow preventers required on all fire suppression systems. The potable water supply to automatic fire sprinkler and standpipe systems shall be protected against backflow by a double check-valve assembly or a reduced pressure backflow preventer. This provision shall apply to all commercial and/or residential structures. (See also 2012 Indiana Plumbing Code, 675 IAC 16, 608.16.4.)
   (C)   All Fire Department connections to sprinkler systems and stand pipes shall be approved by the Fire Department prior to installation.
   (D)   Violation of any provision of this section shall result in liability to the city as set forth in § 94.999(A) of this chapter.
