§ 32.012 DUTIES AND POWERS OF DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND ZONING.
   (A)   The Director of Planning and Zoning is authorized and directed to enforce all the provisions of the several ordinances regarding and applicable to planning and zoning for the city as are adopted or hereafter adopted or amended.
   (B)   The Director of Planning and Zoning shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
      (1)   Work in conjunction with the Building Inspector in cases that involve a strict interpretation of the ordinance and in all cases that involve a rezone petition or a variance to or special exception to the existing ordinance;
      (2)   Work with the Plan Commission in all cases that involve petitions and amendments to rezone land;
      (3)   Work with the Board of Zoning Appeals in cases which involve an interpretation of the ordinance or in cases that involve or application for a variance or special exception permit;
      (4)   Work with the Plan Commission in the day-to-day study of the zoning problems in the city and in the overall Master Plan of the city;
      (5)   Inform the public and news media on zoning and planning matters;
      (6)   Work with city officials in carefully studying growth problems and helping them in their day-to-day problems affecting the future of the city; and
      (7)   Coordinate zoning and planning in the city with the overall Comprehensive Plan and zoning ordinance of Whitley County.
