For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
AND may be read OR, and OR may be read AND, if the sense requires it.
CITY, TOWN, VILLAGE, MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, or MUNICIPALITY. When used in this code shall denote the Municipality of Columbia City, Indiana, irrespective of its population or legal classification.
CODE or CODE OF ORDINANCES. The Columbia City Code of 2003 as set out herein and as hereafter modified by amendment, revision, and by the adoption of new titles, chapters, or sections.
MONTH. A calendar month.
PERSON.
(1) A natural person, partnership, or a corporate body, or any body of persons corporate or incorporate.
(2) Whenever used in any clause prescribing and imposing a penalty, the term
PERSON, as applied to any unincorporated entity, shall mean the partners or members thereof, and as applied to corporations, the officers thereof.
STATE. The State of Indiana.
STREET. Streets, avenues, boulevards, roads, alleys, lanes, viaducts, and all other public highways in the city.
