6.8.104: DOG AND CAT LICENSES; APPLICATION:
The application for a dog or cat license shall consist of a certificate issued and signed by the veterinarian who performed the inoculation as set out in section 6.8.102 of this article. The license receipt shall state the name and address of the animal's owner, the name, breed and color of the animal, the inoculation certificate number issued by the veterinarian, and for a guide dog for the handicapped, the animal's identification number. Upon presentation of the inoculation certificate to the City's animal control contractor, or a veterinarian designated as an authorized representative pursuant to section 6.8.101 of this article, and upon payment of the appropriate fee, a license for a dog or cat and a tag bearing a number corresponding to that of the license shall be issued. Veterinarians issuing a license under this provision shall retain a portion of the fee for each license issued by that veterinarian in an amount determined by City Council resolution, and shall surrender all other funds as the City may direct.
