6.8.102: INOCULATION REQUIRED FOR DOGS AND CATS:
   A.   It shall be the duty of every person who owns or keeps within the City any dog or cat to maintain current inoculation with antirabies vaccine by a licensed veterinarian or a person under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian as permitted pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes section 12-315-105(1)(q).
   B.   When any dog or cat owned or kept by any person residing within the City becomes four (4) months old, the owner or keeper of the dog or cat shall have it inoculated within thirty (30) days of that date.
   C.   Within thirty (30) days after a person brings a dog or cat into the City, that person shall have it inoculated unless proof can be shown that the dog or cat has been inoculated with antirabies vaccine within the previous twelve (12) months, in which case the inoculation may be omitted.
   D.   It shall be unlawful for any person owning or keeping a dog or cat to fail or refuse to have the animal(s) inoculated. (1968 Code §11-133; Ord. 74-114; Ord. 79-249; Ord. 91-32; Ord. 95-26; Ord. 01-42; Ord. 22-97)
