3.1.101: DEFINITIONS:
The following terms, as used in this chapter, shall have the meanings designated, unless the context specifically indicates otherwise, or unless the meaning is excluded by express provision:
CITY ENGINEER, ENGINEER: An engineering professional appointed by the Manager to manage and supervise the City's engineering needs and activities, to establish and enforce the City's engineering standards and specifications and to perform other duties imposed by the Manager or this City Code. This term shall also refer and extend to the City Engineer's employees, assistants and designees.
MANAGER: That person, appointed by and reporting directly to the Mayor, charged with supervisory and administrative responsibility for engineering, transportation, traffic engineering, streets and other public works and public projects, and the Manager's employees, assistants and designees including the City Engineer and Traffic Engineer.
TRAFFIC ENGINEER: An engineering professional appointed by the Manager to manage and supervise the City's traffic engineering needs and activities and to perform other duties imposed by the Manager and this City Code. This term shall also refer and extend to the Traffic Engineer's employees, assistants and designees. (1980 Code; Ord. 01-42; Ord. 11-19)
