10.24.106: PUBLIC EMPLOYEES TO OBEY TRAFFIC REGULATIONS:
   A.   The provisions of this chapter applicable to the drivers of vehicles upon the streets and highways in this City shall apply to the drivers of all vehicles owned or operated by the United States, this State, or any county, city, town, district or any other political subdivision of the State, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.
   B.   The operator of City motor vehicles or other equipment actually engaged in cleaning, washing, repairing or otherwise working upon the surface or structure of the highways or the adjacent curbs, sidewalks or parkways, or upon streetlights, traffic control devices and signals, or on other wires and devices suspended immediately above the surface of the highway, may deviate from the duties and prohibitions of this chapter, provided adequate warning devices are in place to alert traffic of the deviation, and provided further that the deviation can be made without endangering other motor vehicles or persons.
