(A) Federal regulations - Part 192, Minimum Federal Safety Standards, of the Pipeline Safety Regulations, Office of Pipeline Safety, United States Department of Transportation, shall apply to the design and construction of all Hildale/Colorado City gas distribution system extensions.
(B) Arizona State regulations - Title 14, Chapter 5, Article 2, Pipeline Safety, of the Arizona Administrative Code, shall apply to the design and construction of all town gas distribution system extensions.
(C) A gas distribution system (dry lines) may be required for future connection to a gas distribution system.
(D) Construction drawings for gas distribution system extensions shall be submitted with the application for service. These drawings shall be prepared in conformance with APWA Plans and Specifications. In addition, these drawings shall show:
(1) Size, location and type of all existing and proposed gas mains, valves, service lateral and all necessary appurtenances.
(2) Profile drawings showing pipeline relative to finished grade.
(3) Typical and special trench details showing bedding, backfill, compaction and shoring requirements.
(4) All gas distribution mains shall be two inches diameter or larger, as required by the town.
(5) The gas distribution system mains shall be looped at all intersections. Three valves, complete with valve boxes, shall be provided at cross fittings, and two valves with valve boxes at tee fittings.
(6) All gas pipe material shall be plastic pipe and fittings meeting the requirements of ASTM D2513 (1995c Edition and no future editions), having a temperature/HDB rating of CD, CE, CF, or CG. The pipe shall be either UAC 2000 as manufactured by USPOLY Corporation (formerly Uponor Aldyl Company/PW Eagle Corporation) or Driscoplex 6500 as manufactured by Performance Pipe, a division of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP.
