A. Domestic Water Service: All domestic water service shall be constructed in the city of type K copper from the curb stop into the building and shall be laid at a minimum depth of four feet (4'). The service entrance to the building shall be protected from freezing by the property owner, or his/her agent.
B. Commercial Service: All commercial service shall be of type K copper or cast iron class 150 of size appropriate to the water demand, or as may be determined by the public works director.
C. Valve: At the distribution point within the building, a valve shall be installed to stop all water flow from said service.
D. Inspection: The connection of any service shall be inspected at the time of connection by the public works director, or other duly authorized representative of the city. No cross-connections to any private water service shall be permitted. All connections shall be in strict accord with all regulations of the state sanitary water board of the state of Illinois 1 .
