A. Junked Vehicles; Junk Shops Prohibited:
1. Junked Vehicle: It shall be unlawful for any individual, partnership, corporation or other business entity to carry on any business of junking vehicles in the city. [65 ILCS 5/11-42-3]
2. Junk Shops: It shall be unlawful to operate or carry on the business of junking, junk dealing, or to keep any junk shop, store or place for the purchase or sale of junk, rags, old rope, paper or bagging, old iron, brass, copper, or empty bottles. [65 ILCS 5/11-42-3]
B. Unwholesome Business: It shall be unlawful to establish or conduct any packing plant, slaughterhouse, rendery, tallow chandlery, soap factory, glue factory, tannery, or any offensive or unwholesome business within the city or within one mile of the limits thereof. [65 ILCS 5/11-42-7, 5/11-42-9, 5/11-42-10; 740 ILCS 55/221 subdivisions 8 and 17]
C. Picketing: It shall be unlawful for any person, not an employee, past, present or expectant, of the owner or proprietor of the business attempted to be picketed and who has no personal dispute with the owner or proprietor concerning terms and conditions of employment to stand, sit or walk on any street or sidewalk in the city with the intent and purpose of dissuading or discouraging any person from patronizing the place of business.
