4-3-4: NONDISPOSABLE CONTAINERS:
Solid waste shall be placed in suitable containers. Solid waste containers shall not be more than thirty three and one-half (331/2) gallons. Containers shall be waterproof and fitted with tight-fitting lids. The containers shall have handles, bails or other suitable lifting devices. The containers shall be of a type originally manufactured for solid waste, with tapered sides for easy emptying. They shall be of light weight and sturdy construction. The weight of any individual container and contents shall not exceed fifty (50) pounds. Galvanized iron and similar metal containers, rubber or fiberglass containers and plastic containers which do not become brittle in cold weather may be used. Oil or grease drums, paint cans and similar containers shall not be acceptable for use as containers. (1997 Code)
