4-3-2: DEFINITIONS:
For the purpose of this Chapter, the following terms are defined:
BULKY RUBBISH: Rubbish either too large or heavy to be loaded in solid waste collection vehicles with safety and convenience by solid waste collectors with the equipment available therefor.
CITY: The City of Colona, Illinois.
COMMERCIAL UNITS: Any business or multiple-family dwelling larger than a duplex and mobile home parks.
COMMERCIAL USER: Income-producing establishments; churches, schools and multiple-family dwellings (more than 2 residential units) and any other entity not considered single-family residences or residential duplexes which elect to use dumpsters.
GARBAGE: Putrescible animal and vegetable wastes resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking and consumption of food.
HAZARDOUS MATERIAL: Solid waste material including but not limited to, explosives, rags or other waste soaked in volatile and inflammable materials, drugs, poisons, radioactive materials, hot ashes, wastes contaminated by infection or contagious diseases, highly combustible materials and other materials which may present a special hazard to collection or disposal personnel, equipment or to the public.
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE: Petroleum distillate-based solvents, oil-based liquid paint, paint strippers, and pesticides.
OWNER: The owner of that particular real estate.
PACKER UNITS: A garbage truck used to compact and then haul garbage and rubbish.
PERSON: Any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company or organization of any kind.
REFUSE: Garbage and rubbish.
RESIDENTIAL DWELLING UNIT: Any building or buildings used solely for home occupancy and includes single-family dwellings and duplexes.
RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE: Garbage produced at residential dwelling units.
RESIDENTIAL RUBBISH: Rubbish resulting from the maintenance and operation of residential dwelling units.
RUBBISH: Nonputrescible solid wastes.
SOLID WASTE: Unwanted or discarded garbage or rubbish.
SOLID WASTE CONTAINERS: A water-resistant receptacle, nondisposable, designed for the temporary storage of solid waste.
SUPERINTENDENT: The superintendent of public works of the city.
USER: The owner, tenant or occupant of the property entitled to use the services provided by this contract.
WHITE GOODS: Appliances that contain freon such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, as well as nonfreon items such as large household appliances, including washers, dryers and hot water heaters.
YARD WASTE: Organic debris (grass clippings, leaves, flowers, tree branches and limbs, etc.) which is produced as part of yard and garden development and maintenance.
