No pawnbroker shall take any article in pawn, pledge or as security from any person under legal age, nor from any person appearing to be intoxicated, nor from any person known to such pawnbroker to be a thief or to have been convicted of larceny, burglary, robbery or housebreaking, without first notifying a police officer.
