672.15 DISCHARGING FIREARMS AND OTHER WEAPONS; CONFISCATION.
   (a)   Except in the case of persons in military array, persons acting in self defense or persons engaged in enforcing the laws, no person shall discharge any kind of firearm, or other weapon, including a pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun, B-B gun, air rifle, air fun, slingshot, bow and arrow or any device that may be used in a manner similar to the aforementioned devices, by whatever name known.
   (b)   When any police officer discovers any person in the act of violating division (a) of this section, it shall be his or her duty to seize the firearm or other weapon being so unlawfully used, and to cause the arrest of such person. Upon conviction of the person so arrested, the Chief of Police shall dispose of the firearm as provided in Section 606.24.

   (c)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
