SECTION 6.11 EMPLOYEE RELATIONS REVIEW BOARD
The Employee Relations Review Board shall be established to hear appeals concerning suspensions and/or terminations whenever any official or employee in the Village feels aggrieved by any action of his/her supervisor, department head, the Manager, the Mayor or Council or is suspended, reduced, or removed and requests such hearing. The Board shall have power to subpoena witnesses and require the production of records, and have such other powers and duties as established by Council.
There shall be at least three members of this Board. One citizen shall be appointed by the Mayor, one citizen shall be appointed by Council and the third member shall be selected by the first two appointees. The Law Director for the Village shall be present at all meetings. Alternate members may be appointed to serve when the regular members cannot be present. An employee would not seek the services of this Board until all other avenues of an established grievance procedure have been followed.
