SECTION 4.03 ACTING MANAGER
The Mayor, if he deems necessary, shall designate a qualified administrative officer of the Village to perform the duties and functions of the Manager during a temporary absence or disability of the Manager. Such designated official shall have the powers and responsibilities of the Manager during said temporary absence or disability. Village Council may revoke such designation by a majority vote of the members thereof. If the designation has not been made and the Manager is absent from the Village or unable to perform duties, the Council may, by motion, appoint any qualified administrative officer of the Village to perform the duties and functions of the Manager, until the return of the Manager to the Village or the disability ceases. The Acting Manager so designated shall exercise all powers and perform all duties and functions of the Manager during this temporary absence from the Village or disability of the Manager. The Council shall determine what additional compensation, if any, shall be awarded to the Acting Manager.
In the event of a vacancy in the office of the Manager, the Council may designate a person as Acting Manager, who shall exercise all powers, duties and functions of the Manager until such time as a Manager is appointed. Such appointment of an Acting Manager shall be for a period of not more than ninety (90) days. Council may, by majority vote of all its members, extend the appointment of an Acting Manager for an additional ninety (90) days if such extension is deemed necessary.
