For the purposes of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
(a) "Place" or "cause to be placed" means to paste, post, paint, nail, tack, fasten, affix, arrange, or distribute.
(b) "Public right-of-way" or "public property" means any area of real property dedicated to or owned by the Village of Coldwater or the public or any other public body, or over which the Village or the public or any other public body holds any easement, for public street, alley, sidewalk, pedestrian, equestrian, or public purposes.
(c) "Sign" shall include any card, banner, handbill, sign, poster, printing, writing, drawing, painting, decoration, pictorial representation, advertising, political sign, publicity, or notice of any kind. Such term shall not include (1) any sign required or permitted by any statute, ordinance or law, (2) any duly authorized official Village, county, state or federal directional or informational sign; or (3) any privately owned directional sign maintained pursuant to an encroachment agreement approved by the Village.
