No person with a physical handicap which, in the opinion of the Mayor and Council, would impair his or her work or the safety of himself, herself or others, shall be considered for Village employment. A physical examination is required before beginning employment with the Village. Employees are expected to keep themselves in a state of physical fitness, and an employee may be required to submit to a further physical examination by a competent physician if the need thereof appears. The expense of such physical examination shall be borne by the department employing the applicant.
