249.18 HOLIDAYS FOR REGULAR EMPLOYEES.
   (a)   All regular Village employees shall receive the following recognized holidays off at their regular rate of pay: New Year's Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and the day before or after Christmas Day, which day is to be established annually at the discretion of the Village Administrator.
No employee shall be entitled to holiday pay unless that employee has worked the day immediately preceding the holiday and has worked the day immediately following that holiday.
   (b)   Holidays not actually worked shall count as eight hours of straight pay, but shall not be counted into additional overtime for an officer that works a regular forty hour week. Whenever a member of the Police Department is assigned to work on a holiday, the following options shall be available at the Department head's discretion:
      (1)   The full-time officer may work the holiday, with no corresponding time off, in which case the officer will receive the regular holiday pay plus a time-and-one-half rate for hours actually worked on the holiday.
      (2)   The full-time officer may work the holiday, receive a time-and-one-half rate for the hours worked and schedule a day off with eight hours of pay in lieu of the holiday. Such scheduled day off shall be used within forty-five days of the holiday.
      (3)   The part-time officer may work the holiday and receive a rate of pay equal to double the employee's regular hourly rate.
   (c)   Whenever a regular full-time employee is scheduled off on a holiday, the employee shall receive eight hours pay for that holiday.
