Compensatory (comp) time may be taken by all regular hourly full-time employees of the Village in lieu of overtime pay. Comp time may be accumulated at the rate of 1.5 hours for each one hour overtime worked. Not more than twenty-four hours comp time (sixteen overtime hours) may be accumulated in any 180-day period. Any unused comp time at the end of the 180-day period shall be paid at the employee's regular rate of pay. Longevity pay shall not be included in comp time pay. Comp time hours shall not be used in the calculation of overtime hours, either at the time they are accrued or at the time they are paid out. The taking of comp time shall follow the same procedures as that of taking vacation leave. The payroll clerk shall keep a record of all comp time. The taking of comp time may be scheduled at any time within the 180-day period at a time determined by the employee's department head, subject to the approval of the Mayor or the Village Administrator.
