(a) The Police Department may provide police protection to any municipal corporation within the County or to any unincorporated area of the County, without the benefit of any contract, upon request of any officer or authorized agent of any such municipal corporation or unincorporated area.
(b) The Police Department may provide police protection to any municipal corporation or unincorporated area in any county contiguous to Mercer County, Ohio, within the State of Ohio, namely, Van Wert, Auglaize and Darke Counties, without the benefit of any contract, upon the request of the chief law enforcement officer or other authorized agent of any such municipal corporation or unincorporated area.
(c) Such police protection shall not be extended to any of the above mentioned municipal corporations or unincorporated areas unless authorization to do so is first obtained from the Chief of Police or the Mayor of the Village or the officer in charge at the time of the request.
