(A) All members of the regular Police Department of the city who carry deadly weapons on or about their persons when performing their duties as members of the Police Department of the city are hereby authorized to carry concealed deadly weapons on or about their persons at all times within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
(B) The deadly weapons which may be carried by such members of the regular Police Department are those weapons that are usually carried by such officers in performing their duties when on regular duty within the city.
(C) It is the intent and purpose of this section to protect the members of the Police Department of the city from prosecution under the provisions of KRS 527.020 on such occasions when they are outside of the corporate limits of the city and within the boundaries of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
