(A) The city is transferring all eligible employees in the Police Department from general coverage in the Kentucky Employees Retirement System to hazardous duty coverage for those hazardous duty positions within the same Kentucky Employees Retirement System, effective upon the execution of this section.
(B) Effective December 1, 1989 all employees working under hazardous duty job classification of the Police Department will transfer from the existing nonhazardous (general) coverage in the Kentucky Employees Retirement System to hazardous duty coverage within the same Kentucky Employees Retirement System.
(C) Contributions to be paid are as follows:
(1) Fourteen percent (14%) (current rate) of employee's gross wages to be paid by the employer (may be changed by the Board of Trustees of the Kentucky Retirement System).
(2) Seven percent (7%) (current rate) of employee's gross wages to be paid by the employee (may be changed by the Kentucky General Assembly).
(D) The city will comply with all statutory requirements to make the Kentucky Employees Retirement System hazardous duty coverage available for all eligible employees who are working under approved positions within the Police Department.
