§ 31.40 SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.
   (A)   Establishment. The office of Superintendent of Public Works is hereby established.
   (B)   Appointment by Mayor. The Superintendent of Public Works shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council pursuant to KRS 83A.080; and may be removed by the Mayor at will unless otherwise provided by statute or ordinance.
   (C)   Oath. No person shall be appointed or act as the Superintendent of Public Works unless such person has taken the oath required by section 228 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and has provided a bond, if required by the city, with corporate surety authorized to transact business in Kentucky and conditioned upon the performance of the duties specified herein.
   (D)   Compensation. The compensation of the Superintendent of Public Works shall be in an amount to be established by City Council by ordinance, in accordance with § 31.02 of this code.
   (E)   Duties. The Superintendent shall perform all the duties required of him as set forth in § 36.01.
