When extensions and/or alterations are made to any electrical circuit in or on any building or structure coming under the provisions of this code, which circuit was not originally installed in a manner complying with the provisions of this code and/or the ordinances of the city, the electrical circuit, in its entirety, shall be made to conform to such provisions of this code as are particularly applicable thereto.
