A. All newly constructed and remodeled industrial, commercial and multi-family residential structures shall be equipped with a key lock box at or near the main entrance or other location required by the fire chief. The key box must be installed at a height of six feet (6') above ground level.
B. The fire chief shall designate the type of key lock box to be installed within the city and shall have authority to require all structures subject to this section to install and use the designated system.
C. The owner or operator of a structure subject to this section must, at all times, keep a key in the lock box that will allow access to the structure and all tenant units within the structure in the event of an emergency.
D. Any person who owns or operates a structure subject to this section shall be subject to the penalties set forth in section 1.28.010 of this code for any violation of this section. (Ord. 3254 §1, 2006)
