12.40.025: DESIGNATIONS:
Designations of streets within the incorporated boundaries of the city of Coeur d'Alene shall be in accordance with the following guidelines, except in the case of existing and recorded street designations:
   A.   "Avenue" shall designate streets that have a definite east-west directional course.
   B.   "Boulevard" shall designate a street that lies diagonally to the north-south grid system and is an arterial collector.
   C.   "Circle" shall designate a street which circles back on itself.
   D.   "Court" shall designate a cul-de-sac or dead end street less than one thousand feet (1,000') in length, and which is an extension of an existing street or a continuation of a proposed street.
   E.   "Loop" shall designate a street that has its ingress and egress on the same street.
   F.   "Parkway" shall designate streets that are scenic or park drives.
   G.   "Road, drive, trail, way or lane" shall designate streets that do not have a definite directional course.
   H.   "Street" shall designate streets that have a definite north-south directional course. (Ord. 3033 §6, 2001)
