12.16.140: RESTORATION OF IMPROVEMENTS; TEMPORARY SURFACING:
Temporary surfacing acceptable to the Engineer, where indicated on the permit, shall be installed on the same day the backfilling has been completed unless otherwise directed by the Engineer. The time limit for the replacement of temporary surfacing with final pavement shall be at the direction of the Engineer.
   A.   Any excavation of a paved street shall be immediately backfilled with gravel, compacted and patched with cold mix asphalt. Thereafter, within seven (7) working days, or as approved by the City Engineer or Engineer's designee, the permittee shall have the paved street permanently patched with hot mix asphalt.
      1.   The permittee shall maintain the temporary patch until the permanent patch is in place.
      2.   All temporary patches and paved street patches will be placed with a one-fourth inch (1/4") crown with lapped feather edges.
   B.   Permittee will be required to guarantee the street patch for three (3) years, and to this end will execute an agreement with the City in consideration of being granted an excavation or encroachment permit, and permittee will agree that any failure on settlement of the permanent patch within three (3) years may be replaced by the City at permittee's expense.
