(A) An officer or employee, as the Board may appoint, shall be the Building Inspector of the town and he or she shall possess all the powers conferred and perform all the duties prescribed by G.S. § 160A-411 and other statutes applicable thereto.
(B) He or she shall possess the further power and perform the further duties as may be prescribed by this chapter.
(C) He or she shall receive the fees allowed by statute.
(D) The Building Inspector or his or her deputy shall have the right to enter, at all reasonable times, any building structure or premises, within the town, for the purpose of inspecting, or in the performance of his or her duties.
(E) He or she shall make, or cause to be made, the inspection of all chimneys, flues and steam and fire openings within the town.
(F) He or she may, when occasion requires, appoint a deputy or deputies, to perform any part of his or her duties.
(G) Pursuant to G.S. § 160-A-413, the Board of Aldermen requests and authorizes the Haywood County Board of Commissioners to direct the County Building Inspector to exercise their powers within the town and the extraterritorial zoning jurisdiction of the town.
