(A) A vehicle may be operated on any street of the town, designated elsewhere in this subchapter as a business section, at a rate of speed not exceeding 20 mph; provided, however, that, at no time shall the speed be greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions then existing.
(B) The speed limit shall be set by the Board of Aldermen on town-maintained streets. Speed limits on state highways shall be regulated by the state Department of Transportation.
