Each person, firm, or corporation, owning, operating, conducting, or engaging in any of the following businesses, trades, occupations, or professions, whether operated or conducted separately or in connection with another business, trade, occupation, or profession, shall pay the amount of the license fee set out below, this amount designating a full year’s license, unless otherwise specified.
(A) Food service. Including but not limited to restaurants, fast foods, short orders, and pool rooms selling food and the like (anyone engaged in preparing food for sale to and consumption by the public): $50 per year.
(B) Merchants. Including but not limited to groceries, car lots, filling stations, hardware stores, and the like (anyone who engages in the business of buying and selling for profit): $50 per year.
(C) Peddler; non-transient. Anyone selling goods to individuals or local businesses on a regular or frequent basis: $50 per year.
(D) Peddler; transient. Anyone selling goods to individuals or local businesses on a one-time or infrequent basis: $100 per year.
(E) Services; personal. Including but not limited to beauty shops, barber shops, mechanics, body shops, water trucks, and the like (anyone engaged in physically performing services for hire): $50 per year.
(F) Services; professional. Including but not limited to doctors, lawyers, nursing homes, funeral homes, dentists, and the like (anyone engaged in a business requiring higher learning and/or primarily mental skills): $50 per year.
(G) Wine/distilled spirits/malt beverages. Including but not limited to sale of wine/distilled spirits/malt beverages: $200 per year.
(H) Hobbies. A mini-business or enterprise located on the homeowner’s premises, but which grosses no more than $5,000 per year (includes sewer, woodworking, ceramics, small engine repair, and the like):$25 per year.
(I) Additional categories. Additional categories and fees may be established by the City Council by ordinance, if applications are made for business licenses not listed or implied in the foregoing schedule.
