(a) The Board of Appeals shall consist of seven members. One member of the Board of Appeals shall be a member of the Township Planning Commission and the remaining members shall be selected from among the electors residing in the unincorporated area of the Township and shall be appointed by the Township Board. Per M.C.L.A. 125.3815(4)(c), of those seven members, one member of the Board of Appeals may be appointed who is not a resident of the Township.
One member may be a member of the Township Board, provided that such member shall not serve as Chairperson of the Board of Appeals, nor shall any employee or contractor of the Township Board serve as a member or an employee of the Board of Appeals.
(b) All members of the Board of Appeals shall be representative of the population distribution and various interests present in the Township of Clinton.
(c) The term of each member shall be for three years, except that of the five members first appointed, two shall serve for two years and the remaining three members for three years.
(1) A successor shall be appointed not more than one month after the term of the preceding member has expired.
(2) All vacancies for unexpired terms shall be filled for the remainder of the term.
