1250.04   COMPLIANCE REQUIRED.
   No building, structure or part thereof shall hereafter be erected, constructed or altered and maintained, and no new use or change of use shall be made or maintained of any building, structure, land or part thereof except in conformity with the provisions of this Zoning Code.

1250.05   AMENDMENTS.
   Amendments to this Zoning Code may be made from time to time in the manner provided in the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act 110 of 2006, as amended. Amendments may be initiated by the Township Board, upon written directive to the Planning Commission, or the Planning Commission may initiate amendments upon its own motion. Any person, firm or corporation may initiate an amendment hereto in accordance with the statute and the Planning Commission rules of procedure.

1250.06   REZONING PROCEDURES AND STANDARDS.
   (a)   Procedures for rezoning (amending) the zoning map.
      (1)   An applicant seeking the rezoning of property shall file an application with the Department of Planning and Community Development. The Department shall review the request and transmit it to the Planning Commission for review and action.
      (2)   The Department for Planning and Community Development shall establish a date for a public hearing on the application by one publication in a newspaper of general circulation, printed not less than 15 days before the date of the hearing. The notice contains the time, date, place, and purpose of the meeting. Notice shall also be given, no less than 15 days prior to the public hearing, to all persons owning real property within 300 feet of the property in question.
   (b)   The applicant shall submit the following information for the requested Zoning Map Amendment:
      (1)   Legal description of the property.
      (2)   A scaled map of the property that shows the property’s location within the Township.
      (3)   Name, address, and contact information of the petitioner.
      (4)   If the petitioner is not the owner, the name, address, and contact information of the owner shall also be included.
      (5)   Date of filing with the Department of Planning and Community Development.
      (6)   Signature of the petitioner and all owners.
      (7)   The existing zoning classification of the property.
      (8)   The requested zoning classification of the property.
      (9)   Reasons for the requested change.
