(A) A written petition requesting a kennel license must be filed with the Common Council. A petition form shall be made available to the public at City Hall through the office of the code enforcement officer. Completed petitions should be returned to the code enforcement officer. Petitioners will receive written notice of the time, date, and location where the Common Council will hear information concerning their kennel license request. Additionally, petitioners will be required to send notice of said meeting to all persons that own land adjoining that property where the kennel will be kept along with a copy of the petition, by certified mail, at least ten days prior to the meeting. Proof of mailing should be brought to the meeting by the petitioner. The petitioner must show documentation of all updated vaccines on all cats or dogs.
(B)
If a license is granted, there is a $50 fee paid to the City Clerk-Treasurer which must be renewed annually. Said fees shall be deposited into the city’s Bark Park Fund.
(C) A minimum of four cats or dogs with a maximum of six cats or dogs allowed.
(D) Evidence of an exercise area must be shown.
(E) Provide all of the animals with comfortable accommodations allowing for free movement as determined by animal control.
