2-4-4: GIFTS, DEVISES AND BEQUESTS:
Any person whomsoever is hereby authorized and empowered to give, donate, devise or bequeath any sum of money, not less than one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00), or any funds, securities or property of any kind, the value of which shall not be less than one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00), to city of Clinton cemetery fund in perpetual trust, for the maintenance, care, repair, upkeep or ornamentation of Woodlawn cemetery, or any lot or grave in said cemetery, specified in the instrument making such gift, donation, devise or bequest. The city shall have the right to convert said property into money, and shall invest the proceeds thereof, and the money so given, donated and bequeathed to it in such manner as trustees have the right to invest money, according to state statutes. The principal of such trust funds shall be kept intact, and perpetually invested and the income thereof shall be perpetually applied for purposes specified in the instrument making such gifts, donations, devises or bequests, and for no other purpose. Any gift, devise or bequest given pursuant to this section shall be under the supervision of the commissioner of public health and safety. (1968 Code, sec. 20-105; amd. 1983 Code)
