There shall be two (2) major divisions of the department, the detective and the patrol divisions.
(A) The detective division will conduct all follow up investigations of the department. This division shall also act as internal affairs division for the department when necessary. The division will be headed by the chief of police, or whoever he shall designate. This division shall be a nonuniformed division.
(B) The patrol division shall act as initial investigatory and fill the area of law enforcement which serves to suppress violations of the law by observation. This division shall be headed by the chief of police, or whomever he shall designate. This shall be a uniformed division. (Ord. 250, 1983)
