There is hereby created an executive department of the municipal government of the city to be known as the police department, which shall be under the supervision of the commissioner of public health and safety, and shall embrace one chief of police, one deputy chief of police, and such sergeants and police officers as may, from time to time, be fixed by the council. All buildings, equipment and vehicles assigned to the police department shall also be under the supervision of the commissioner. (Ord. 1267, 5-7-2012)
