Any person who violates any provision of this chapter commits a municipal infraction. In addition to the standard penalty set forth in § 10.99 of this code of ordinances, any owner who permits the occupancy of a dwelling unit after it has been found unfit for human habitation and placarded, as set forth in this chapter, shall commit a municipal infraction and shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of $10 per day for each day the dwelling unit is occupied in violation of this chapter. In addition to the standard penalty, any occupant who occupies a dwelling unit after it has been found unfit for human habitation and placarded, as set forth in this chapter, shall be deemed to commit a municipal infraction and shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of $10 per day for each day the dwelling unit is occupied in violation of this chapter.
