§ 30.62 ADVISORY APPOINTMENTS COMMITTEE.
   (A)   An Advisory Appointments Committee is hereby established consisting of six members, as follows:
      (1)   The Mayor;
      (2)   A member of the City Council appointed by the Mayor; and
      (3)   Four public members who are residents of the city. The four public members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council.
   (B)   The terms of office of the members of the committee shall expire on January 2 of each even-numbered year.
   (C)   Whenever a vacancy exists or will exist on a board or commission of the City of Clinton, Iowa, the Advisory Appointments Committee shall make a recommendation to the Mayor of a person or persons to be appointed to the vacant position, taking account of the city's gender balance policy. The Advisory Appointments Committee shall also interview every applicant for a board or commission position as part of the recommendation process. The Advisory Appointments Committee shall encourage and recruit residents of the city for appointment to boards and commissions.
