Any person operating a motor vehicle within the city shall, at the request of a police officer, immediately proceed to a designated weighing station to have the truck weighed. If the operator of the motor vehicle refuses to permit the weighing of the truck, the operator’s refusal shall be considered prima facie evidence of violation of this chapter. The Police Chief is directed to designate the official weighing stations to be used for the weighing of trucks.
