(A) ATVs, UTVs, and golf carts operated upon city streets shall be equipped with at least the following:
(1) Golf carts shall have mounted a bicycle safety flag, the top of which shall be a minimum of five feet from ground level, or a slow-moving vehicle sign that is at minimum 12-inches by 12-inches mounted to the back of the golf cart in a clear and conspicuous manner;
(2) Adequate brakes;

(3) Headlights from sunset to sunrise, and at all hours on any highway in the city (applicable to ATVs and UTVs);
(4) Tail lights;
(5) Rear mirrors;
(6) Side mirrors;
(7) Safety belts (UTVs only);
(8) Muffler system limiting engine noise to not more than 86 decibels; and
(9) Any ATV or UTV operated on any highway in the city shall be equipped with all parts, lamps, and other equipment required by Iowa Code §§ 321.386, 321.387, 321.432, and 321.437.
(B) Golf carts shall operate only from sunrise to sunset.

(C) If an ATV or UTV is not equipped with a windscreen, operators and passengers shall wear eye protection in the form of goggles, safety glasses, eye glasses, or sunglasses.
