The purpose of this chapter is to promote the planting and preservation of trees on city parkways and within residential, commercial and industrial developments in the city. Trees provide shade, reduce heat island effects in paved areas, and create an attractive living environment which protect and enhance property values within the community. This chapter also establishes a Tree Commission to develop a tree planning program and establish regulations for the planting and preservation of trees within the city.
