(A) There shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Council, a City Planning Commission, hereinafter referred to as the Commission, consisting of seven members, who shall be residents of the city and qualified by knowledge or experience to act in matters pertaining to the development of a city plan and who shall not hold any elective office in the city government.
(B) The Mayor, pursuant to existing authority under Chapter 31 of the City of Clinton Code of Ordinances, shall appoint the seven members of the Commission. The Mayor may appoint the seven members from the existing membership of the Commission, or from outside the Commission.
