The Chief of Police, the commissioned regular police officers, the commissioned reserve officers and civilian personnel assigned to the Police Department shall not receive appointment with the Police Department who are at the time of appointment related within the second degree of affinity or within the third degree of consanguinity to the Mayor or any member of the City Council.
