State statutes authorizing and empowering cities to regulate the platting and recording of subdivisions or additions situated within the corporate limits, and establishing extraterritorial jurisdiction within one-half mile of the city (Tex. Local Government Code Ch. 212), are adopted for and on behalf of the city; and the city, acting through its duly authorized officials, shall have all the rights, powers, privileges and authority authorized and granted by and through those statutes.
