(A) The maximum fine for violating provisions of this code of ordinances, or other city ordinances that govern fire safety, zoning or public health and sanitation, including dumping of refuse, shall be $2,000 per separate and distinct offense.
(B) The maximum fine for violation of all provisions of this code of ordinances, or other city ordinances not enumerated in division (A) above, shall be $500 per separate and distinct offense.
(C) Each day any violation of this code of ordinances or any ordinance continues shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.
(D) No penalty shall be greater or less than the penalty provided for the same or a similar offense under the laws of the state.
