(A) Immediately upon impounding animals, the Animal Control Authority shall make every reasonable effort to identify the owners of such animals so impounded, and inform such owners of the conditions whereby they may regain custody of such animals.
(B) If the owner of any impounded animal shall be known to the Animal Control Authority and shall reside or have a known place of business in the town, the Animal Control Authority shall notify the owner, in writing, personally or by certified mail within 24 hours after such animal has been impounded. The notice shall contain a description of the animal and shall state that, unless reclaimed within 72 hours of the date of the notice, such animal shall be disposed of in accordance with this chapter. Copies of the notice shall be posted at the place of impoundment and at the Town Hall.
